Service Description
Provides interactive workshops to help individuals with chronic pain take charge of their life and find practical ways to manage chronic pain.
- Groups of 10-16 people meet for two and a half hours a week for six weeks.
- For adults of any age who have chronic pain, including (but not limited to):
- Musculoskeletal pain
- Fibromyalgia
- Whiplash injury
- Chronic pelvic pain
- Post-surgical pain lasting longer than 6 months
- Neuropathic pain
- Neuralgias
- Post stroke or central pain
- Persistent headache
- Crohn’s disease
- Irritable bowel syndrome
- severe muscular pain due to conditions such as multiple sclerosis.
Participants:
- Receive information on how to manage symptoms and medication, work with your healthcare providers, set weekly goals, problem-solve effectively, improve communication, cope with stress, handle difficult emotions, eat well, and exercise safely.
- Set their own goals and make a step-by-step plan to improve their health and quality of life.
- Receive a Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions textbook and a Chronic Pain Self-Management workshop book.

Eligibility
Individuals and/or their caregivers who have chronic pain.
