Service Description

Provides care, support and guidance during pregnancy, labour, birth, and the six weeks after baby is born. Provides pregnancy care at any time during the pregnancy.

Midwives have specialized education and are registered and licensed with the Saskatchewan College of Midwives. The midwives only work with low risk pregnancies and will assess the risk and will recommend seeing a doctor if the risk is high. Midwives work with other midwives, nurses, doctors, public health workers, and others to ensure healthy outcomes for mothers and babies.
