Service Description

A home visitation and family support program for parents with newborns in the region, including First Nations areas.

Strengthens services for families with very young children. Goals of the program are to:

  • Offer community support based on their strengths and individual situations
  • Promote positive parent-child relationships
  • Promote healthy childhood growth and development
  • Enhance family functioning by building trusting, nurturing relationships, teaching problem-solving skills, and improving the family’s support systems.

Eligibility

Parents with newborns (prenatal to 3 months of age).

Application Process

Complete the in-hospital birth questionnaire when the child is born. The document will be automatically forwarded to the program office or, complete the Parenting Plus confidential screen (available upon request).
