Service Description

Provides support to new mothers and families in the first days after birth.

  • Enhances capacity of parents to support healthy growth and development.
  • Directs families to appropriate care providers if necessary.

Provides information on a variety of topics, including:

  • Birth control
  • Breastfeeding
  • Oral health
  • Mom’s mental health/Postpartum adjustment
  • Safety
  • Second hand smoke exposure
  • Sleep issues
  • Shaken baby syndrome
  • Child Health Clinics/Immunization sites.

Eligibility

New mothers (approximately first 6 weeks after birth) within the Saskatoon Health Region.
