Service Description

Provides expectant parents with knowledge and strategies necessary to help them prepare for their labour, birth, and postpartum experience.

  • Classes are facilitated by local Registered Nurses with many years combined experience working in childbirth education who are also Moms themselves.
  • Each series of classes provides information on labour and delivery, coping strategies, infant feeding, and postpartum adjustment. Classes include lectures, videos, and interactive participation.

Online classes are available for expectant families that live in rural areas, those on bedrest, or those unable to attend regular in-person classes. Visit the website for further information.

Eligibility

Pregnant women and their partner (or other main support person).

Application Process

It is recommended to register early in your pregnancy for classes. Ideally, classes should be completed in your 6th to 7th month (to be finished by 6 weeks before your due date). Registration forms available online.

Fees

$50 per couple.
The fee can be waived due to financial hardship - contact for details.
