Service Description

Cares for pregnant women and babies before, during, and after birth.

Units/areas of service include:

  • Prenatal unit – pregnant women who are experiencing difficulties receive care in hospital
  • Maternal Outpatient Clinic – see a specialist about your pregnancy
  • Fetal Assessment
  • Birthing Unit
  • Maternal and Newborn Care Unit
  • Midwifery – provide care and support during pregnancy, labour, birth, and the six weeks after birth
  • Healthy and Home – home visit to check on mother and baby after they leave the hospital.

Maternal services at Saskatoon Health Region are centralized at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. Babies are also delivered at Humboldt District Health Complex in Humboldt.
