Service Description
Provides physiotherapy or physical therapy to individuals who may be experiencing physical problems that are associated with injury, disease, disability, birth defects, or long periods of inactivity. Includes:
- Outpatient Assessment and Treatment: assesses and treats a variety of types of conditions and injuries without a doctor’s referral, including:
- Sports injuries
- Acute and chronic musculoskeletal and/or pain conditions
- Pre and post-operative conditions such as total joint replacement surgeries, or fracture-based injuries
- Acute and chronic neurological conditions such as Stroke, Acquired Brain Injuries, Multiple Sclerosis, ALS, and more.
- Inpatient Assessment and Treatment: individuals asdmitted to the Victoria Hospital can be seen by a Physical Therapist for any condition requiring rehabilitation upon a doctor’s referral.
- Home Care: a Physical therapist visits clients’ homes if they are unable to come to the Therapies outpatient unit for services. Call 306-765-2450 for further details.
- Neuropediatric: provides outpatient rehabilitation for children with neurological problems, such as Cerebral Palsy, or children with developmental delays. Call 306-765-6126 for details on the physical therapy drop-in clinic (for non-urgent referrals that are waiting to see a physical therapist).
Eligibility
Individuals who may be experiencing physical problems that are associated with injury, disease, disability, birth defects, or long periods of inactivity.
