Service Description
Saskatchewan government program offering monthly financial aid to seniors in a licensed personal care homes, based on income and marital status
Note: For married or common-law couples, half of the combined household income is used to determine benefit
Eligibility
Eligibility for PCHB applies if you:
- are 65 years of age or older
- are a resident of Saskatchewan
- live in a Saskatchewan licensed personal care home
- receive an old age security pension
- have a monthly income below specified levels
Application Process
Review the PCHB application guide and the list of licensed personal care homes and download PCHB application form
Applicants get up to 60 days to submit the required documents to the Regina Ministry of Social Services Client Service Centre
Documents Required
Below is the list of documents required to apply:
- signed application form
- direct deposit form
- copy of recent GIS entitlement letter or a copy of most recent tax return and a copy of a bank statement showing the most recent OAS/GIS deposit
- responsible person’s consent form (if required)
- confirmation of admission form (if required)
As the spouse of the application:
- copy of your GIS entitlement letter (if applicable) or copy of most recent tax return and a copy of bank statement showing the most recent OAS/GIS deposit
