Service Description

Helps newcomers who are relocating to the region from another country, another province, or an Indigenous community by providing:

  • Referrals for language assessment and local English classes
  • Appointments and referrals to settlement services
  • Referrals for career and employment services
  • Assistance with foreign qualification recognition
  • Referrals for Immigration applications and payment receipts
  • Health card applications
  • Child Tax Benefits applications
  • Resources for local cities and towns 
  • Access to computer, fax and copier.

Appointments are available outside of regular business hours and at locations outside of the office. 

The Southeast Newcomer Services (SNS) is funded by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Economy.

Eligibility

Newcomers arriving from outside Canada, from another Canadian province, or relocating from an Aboriginal community to settle in Southeast Saskatchewan.

Application Process

To find a Settlement Advisor, contact Southeast Newcomer Services (SNS). If you qualify for services, the SNS will set up an appointment for you with a Settlement Advisor. You may meet with your Settlement Advisor at SNS or at another place, such as a library, that is close to you.
