Service Description

Provides a monthly taxable benefit to contributors who are disabled and to their dependent children. Visit the website for more information.

Eligibility

- Are under 65
- Contributed enough to the Canada Pension Plan
- Have a medical or physical disability that regularly stops you from doing any type of substantially gainful work
- Have a disability that is long-term and of definite duration, or is likely to result in death
- Are 60 to 65 and have been receiving the CPP retirement pension for more than 15 months or become disabled after starting to receive the retirement pension

Application Process

Individuals should apply as soon as they develop a severe and prolonged disability that prevents them from regularly working.
