Service Description

Provides fishing benefits to qualifying, self-employed fishers who are actively seeking work. Unlike regular EI benefits, eligibility for EI fishing benefits is based on earnings, not insurable hours of employment. Visit the website for more information.

Depends on how much a fisher earned from self-employment in fishing during the qualifying period. Visit the website to find out if you qualify.

Application Process

Should apply no later than four weeks after last day of work, the end date of the fishing trip, or the date sold of the catch to a buyer. Visit the website to find out about the application process.
