Service Description

School-based: provides a full range of dental education and treatment for children in their communities, including:

  • check-ups and x-rays
  • placement of fillings and crowns (caps)
  • nerve treatment
  • removal of teeth when necessary
  • protective sealants
  • cleaning teeth, fluoride treatment, and prevention of dental decay
  • classroom toothbrush program
  • referrals to specialists when needed.

Community Oral Health: works to prevent tooth decay and to improve oral heath for children and their parents/caregivers by providing:

  • dental screenings and fluoride varnish applications for children birth – 7 years old
  • dental health education fro parents/caregivers, including prenatal presentations
  • referral for treatment to dental offices or hospital dental treatment when necessary.
