Service Description
Offers support for both University of Saskatchewan students who wish to travel abroad and international students arriving to the University of Saskatchewan. Additionally, provides support to staff and faculty involved with international students and domestic students wishing to study abroad.
- Arrival, Transition and Cultural Support – offers international students support related to academic life in Canada, provides advising services, organizes cultural events workshops.
- Study Abroad, Awards and Travel Safety – supports all University of Saskatchewan students who wish to travel abroad with the university.
- Introduction to Intercultural Communication – non-credit course designed for students undertaking an intercultural experience throughout their studies.
- International Students Advising:
- Non-Immigration Drop-in Advising Via Zoom: Provided by ISSAC’s International Education Officers. Topics include settling in Canada, accommodation, pre-arrival and arrival supports, health care, social insurance number, general referral to international students supports, and immigration information.
- Immigration Drop-in Advising via Zoom: Provided by ISSAC’s Regulated International Student Immigration Adviser (RISIA). Topics include study permits, visas, work eligibility, post-graduation work permit, entry to Canada requirements, and inviting family and friends to Canada (not permanent residence questions).
Eligibility
Arrival, Transition and Cultural Support - international students. Study Abroad, Awards and Travel Safety - University of Saskatchewan students who wish to travel abroad with the university. Introduction to Intercultural Communication - University of Saskatchewan students undertaking an intercultural experience throughout their studies. International Students Advising - all newly admitted and current University of Saskatchewan international students.
