Service Description
Identifies and prevents environmental public health risks that could impact the community. Environmental Health Officers provide advice, guidance, education, public health inspections, and recommendations to communities, Tribal Council entities, and their leadership to manage public health risks associated with the environment. Program areas include:
- Community and private water quality,
- Community and private sewage disposal,
- Solid waste disposal,
- Food quality,
- Communicable disease control,
- Community facilities,
- Special events,
- Recreational facilities,
- Housing,
- Pest Control,
- Occupational Health and Safety.
Eligibility
Members of the File Hills Qu'Appelle Tribal Council including Carry the Kettle Nakota Nation, Little Black Bear's Band of Cree and Assiniboine Nations, Muscowpetung Saulteaux Nation, Peepeekisis Cree Nation, Standing Buffalo Dakota Nation, Star Blanket Cree Nation, Nekaneet, Okanese, Pasqua, Piapot, and Wood Mountain Lakota First Nations.
