Service Description

***Proof of double vaccination is required to enter and participate in any programming.

Offers free English language (LINC, Stage 1 & 2 English and Communication Circle) classes for newcomers to Canada and provides functional English language skills for successful settlement and integration, including employment-readiness.  Training is available in-person and online and various schedules and for clients assessed at Literacy Foundation to CLB 7 and of varying immigration status.  Free care for newcomer children (CNC) services and childminding are also available for clients needing childcare support to access these classes.

Eligibility

Stage 1 and 2 classes, CLB 1 - CLB 7, for adult temporary residents and Canadian citizens.
Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) classes, from literacy levels and CLB 1 - CLB 4, for adult refugees and permanent residents
Communication Circle for CLB 4 - CLB 7 (or its equivalent), for temporary residents, refugees, permanent residents and Canadian citizens
Drop-in classes for CLB 4 to CLB 7 (or its equivalent), for anyone, regardless of immigration status)

Register in person during business hours.

Immigration documents including Permanent Resident Card, passport, Work permit, Visitor permit, Refugee Claimant Forms, proof of citizenship, etc.
