Women’s Health Unit has four Labour-Delivery-Recovery-Postpartum (birthing) rooms, two post-partum rooms, one operating room and one non-stress test room. There is a Level 2 Nursery, Breastfeeding Room. Provides delivery post-partum and newborn care as well as caesarean section deliveries and post-operative care. Provides a 24 hour obstetrical outpatient clinic.
Maternity Visiting Program provides supportive nursing services to mothers who go home sooner after the birth of their baby. A Public Health Nurse (PHN) will visit the mother within 24 to 48 hours after she is discharged from the hospital. The PHN will check mother and baby, as well as provide information and counselling about breastfeeding, nutrition, rest, exercise, and baby care.
Pre-booked tours of the Women Health Unit are given by the Director on Mondays from 2:30 - 3 pm.
