Service Description
Provides working families who have low incomes with a monthly financial benefit, Supplementary Health Benefits, access to discounted bus passes (where available), connections to employment supports through the Ministry of Immigration and Career Training, and access to the Saskatchewan Housing Benefit through the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation. Amount of the incentive is based on family income and the number of eligible children in the family.
Eligibility
Must be:
- A Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident;
- Living in Saskatchewan;
- 18 years or older;
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number and Saskatchewan Health Services Number;
- Not receiving Saskatchewan Income Support, Saskatchewan Assured Income for Disability benefits, Saskatchewan Employment Supplement, or Child Care Subsidy;
- Have children ages 0 - 12 and/or children ages 13 - 17 who require childcare due to special circumstances, and receive the Canada Child benefit for those children or are a Person of Sufficient Interest and have those children in your care; and
- Have a minimum of $500 per month before deductions from employment and/or self-employment and a family income that is less than the monthly maximum listed below - If monthly family income meets or exceeds the following maximums, benefit will be zero.

To continue receiving benefits, family income must be reported monthly and Social Services must be informed of any changes in circumstance such as change of address, the addition of a child or other family circumstances.

Documents Required
If applicant receives any of the following, they must provide the amount received:
- Canada Pension Plan;
- Employment Insurance;
- Old Age Security;
- Guaranteed Income Supplement;
- Seniors Income Plan;
- Workers Compensation Benefits;
- Child or spousal support; or
- Money from rental income.
