Service Description
Offers a variety of Intercultural Programs and Services, including:
- Culture Sync Program – Helps clients to become active contributors in the broader community by enhancing their sense of belonging and supporting businesses in creating diverse and inclusive workplaces for newcomers and Indigenous peoples. The program is delivered through Intercultural Events and Intercultural Education.
- SK CultureXchange Program – This program is a partnership between newcomers and established residents of Saskatchewan. Locals will have the opportunity to connect with newcomers to develop friendships, learn/share about their community and what it has to offer, and practice communication skills.
- Global Story Box – This is a family-oriented resource for adults and children. It highlights the diverse culture of Saskatoon by sharing stories, activities, and items that reflect our local and global cultures.
- Tea Time with SIA – Offers a safe and welcoming platform for respectful discussions and presentations on culture and history through various intercultural voices, perspectives, world views and ways of knowing. Offered online via Zoom.
- Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Presentations – A series of diversity, equity and inclusion presentations that educate clients and number of topics.
- Corporate Culture Club – Provides local employers and businesses with tools to develop inclusive business practices for newcomers in the community.
- Intercultural Education & Anti-Racism Services – Offers intercultural education and a number of anti-racism education courses.
- Intercultural Harmony Events – Coordinates a number of events that provide opportunities for intercultural exchanges between newcomers and the Indigenous community in Saskatoon.
- Indigenous Education – Offers presentations on the origins of Canada.
- Intercultural Arts Network – Promotes and engages artists in traditional and contemporary styles through a wide range of multidisciplinary art forms. Presentations are shared through workshops and public performances.
- Saskatoon Multicultural Schools – Language classes are available for anyone who is interested in learning a new or heritage language. Evening and weekend classes are held for children and adults in 26 different languages by 33 language schools. High school credit classes are offered in German, Mandarin, Polish and Spanish.
- Interpreter Training and Testing – Offers online training and certified testing for interpreters.
