Service Description
Provides prevention and early screening for diabetes and pre-diabetes including screening for blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure. Provides diabetes education, including diabetes management education. Services include:
- Community wellness clinics,
- Individual diabetes and nutrition counselling,
- Cooking classes,
- Health education presentations,
- Menu planning support,
- Information and health screening at community health fairs,
- Dietitian services/support for Pasikow Muskwa Rising Bear Healing Centre, Lakeview Lodge, Leading Thunderbird Lodge, Miko-Mahikan Outreach Program, and All Nations Healing Hospital.
Eligibility
Members of the File Hills Qu'Appelle Tribal Council including Carry the Kettle Nakota Nation, Little Black Bear's Band of Cree and Assiniboine Nations, Muscowpetung Saulteaux Nation, Peepeekisis Cree Nation, Standing Buffalo Dakota Nation, Star Blanket Cree Nation, Nekaneet, Okanese, Pasqua, Piapot, and Wood Mountain Lakota First Nations.
