Service Description

A support system/program for those who want to exit the gang life.

Components of the program include:

  • Educational presentations to the community on the dangers of gang life and addictions
  • Indigenous cultural teachings
    • Includes Elders, Cultural Advisors, and access to ceremony through Sweat Lodges and Sundance Ceremonies
  • Weekly Traditional Sharing Circle
    • Includes teachings, prayers, songs, and smudging with an Elder and Cultural Advisor
  • Community Engagement
    • Includes mentorship programs and summer culture camps for youth
  • Support in areas such as: housing search, employment, education, and general community assistance
  • Learning about healthy lifestyles and relationships, and positive community involvement.

Eligibility

No age restrictions, however participants are generally over 18 years of age. Participants must: have a desire to leave gang life/culture, agree to drop gang colours, deal with addiction issues, and demonstrate honesty, humility and a serious long term commitment to the program.
