Service Description
Acts as the first point of contact for newcomers, providing:
- First point of contact for newcomers
- Promotes all government and community information, resources and services available to newcomers
- Provides information and referral services available to newcomers such as language assessments, Labour Market Services (LMS) referrals, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program referrals, and other government agency referrals
- Provides access to computer, photocopier, printer, fax and phone
- Facilitates access to specialized provincial settlement resources and services
- Works with the Ministry to support ongoing improvement of services to newcomers
- Provides space where newcomers and service providers can meet and share their stories
- Facility available for newcomer events, seminars and events organized by other community organizations
- Assists in settling in their new homes by providing access to donated furniture, household items and clothing
- Provides access to Language Line Services – over the phone interpretation during our office hours.
Eligibility
Newcomers to Saskatchewan that are 18 years of age or older, who are requiring general information on, and/or referrals, to settlement services and language training, public services, and community resources in the catchment area.
