Community Youth Programs – Active Start / FUNdamentals

Service Description

Offers two community youth programs for children with intellectual disabilities – ages two to twelve. Both programs run on a twelve-week session cycle. Each class runs for one hour, once a week. Offered in Estevan, Moose Jaw, Regina, Saskatoon and Swift Current.

  • Active Start – A family centered program targeting children with intellectual disabilities ages two to six. Children learn basic motor skills such as walking, running, jumping and throwing in a fun and safe environment.
  • FUNdamentals – This program is a continuation of the Active Start Program for athletes ages seven to twelve. This program transitions from basic movement skills to basic sports skills, while maintaining an atmosphere of fun and meaningful interaction.

Children (ages 2-12) with an intellectual disability, cognitive delay, or a developmental disability who reside in Saskatchewan
