Service Description

These programs were designed by families who had dreams and expectations for their children, which did not fall into the mainstream services provided for persons with disabilities. Families and/or support committees have developed independent living arrangements for each client, and the government provides funds for live in care providers/roommates. These programs receive additional funding to facilitate community support tailored to each client’s needs in the areas of social, vocational and recreational activities. The goal of these programs is to see each client obtain the highest level of independence and quality of life possible. There are two Self-Managed Programs, involving four individuals and their families.
