Service Description
Offers pre-retirement workshops, in partnership with the Congress of Union Reirees of Canada (CURC) that cover all the major issues including:
- pensions & benefits
- goal setting
- legal issues
- housing
- changing relationships
- retirement activities
- volunteering
- labour movement involvement
- physical & mental health and wellness
- financial matters.
This is an introductory course for union members and their spouses/partners who:
- are coming up to retirement and asking questions about retirement
- are considering early retirement, or on the verge of layoffs, but who are not sure if they will be able to afford it
- have or will negotiate a pension plan, serve as a trustee on a board of pension trustees, or take a pre-retirement course through their employer
- have an interest in knowing more about retirement in general.
