Service Description
Provides court orientation and support to children and other vulnerable victims/witnesses who are required to testify in court in Saskatchewan. This helps reduce the fear, anxiety, and further trauma that may occur through testifying. Includes:
- Liaison and advocacy with the court and Crown Prosecutor
- Information about the status of the case, legal terms, what it is like to be a witness and how the process works
- Court tour and orientation
- Court accompaniment
- Referral to community and government service agencies.
There are six Victim/Witness Services programs located throughout the province, including Battlefords, La Ronge, Meadow Lake, Prince Albert, Regina and Saskatoon. Visit the website for more information.
