Service Description
Community Wellness Workers provide culturally appropriate outreach, mental health and addictions related education, chronic disease support/programming, and other community-based support. These services include but are not limited to the following:
- Culturally based support – Cultural Facilitator
- Traditional Tobacco teachings
- Smoking Cessation
- ASIST training (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training)
- SafeTALK training (suicide alertness for everyone)
- Mental health awareness
- Grief and loss support
- Addictions recovery support and education
- Harm reduction education and naloxone education
- Matrix Intensive Outpatient Program
The Community Wellness Program goal is to help communities maximize knowledge in mental health and wellness.
▶ Working within a harm reduction framework, Community Wellness Workers emphasize holistic health promotion and community capacity building.

First Nations persons 10 years of age or older.
