Service Description
Provides prenatal and postnatal education and follow-ups, healthier eating and breastfeeding support to women and families with infants and children to reach their fullest developmental and lifetime potential. Parent Support Workers improve health outcomes for pregnant women and families with infants or children newborn – six years old.
Assists prenatal and postnatal women in:
- Nutrition/dietary assessments
- Nutrition counselling/education
- Cooking classes
- Food vouchers for prenatal mothers
- Traditional/cultural teachings
- Breastfeeding education and support
- Prenatal classes
- Referrals to other care providers.
Eligibility
Members who reside in La Ronge (Kitsaki), Hall Lake, Sucker River, Little Red River, and Grandmother's Bay communities.
