Service Description

Provides a reimbursement program to support programs, services and medical equipment to improve lung health for patients, caregivers, and Saskatchewan residents who have had radon mitigation.  
Designed to be complementary to other established financial assistance programs in Saskatchewan.  Before submitting a financial reimbursement request, ensure that expenses can’t be covered by other funding programs or insurance providers.

Eligibility

Individuals with lung disease, or their primary caregiver(s):
Individuals must be Saskatchewan residents.
Expenses must be incurred within the past 12 months.
A maximum of $500.00 can be provided to an individual per calendar year.
Individuals who have worked with a certified radon mitigation professional to lower the radon levels in their primary residence.
To be considered for radon mitigation reimbursement, individuals must have first had their home tested for radon with a long-term radon test that has been approved by Health Canada. Mitigation work must be completed by a certified Canadian-National Radon Proficiency Program (C-NRPP) radon reduction expert. Post mitigation radon levels must be below Health Canada’s recommended guideline of 200 Bq/m3.
Individuals must be Saskatchewan residents.
Expenses must be incurred within the past 12 months.
A maximum of $500.00 can be provided to an individual per calendar year.

Application Process

Lung Health Expenses - Required Information
1. Complete application form
2. Copy of Expense Receipts: When filling out the application, upload a copy of the expense receipts for which you are requesting reimbursement.
3. A referral from any health care provider. Have your health care provider fill out the referral form.

Radon Mitigation Expenses - Required Information
1. Application: Fill out the online application
2. Copy of Receipts: When filling out the application, upload a copy of the radon mitigation expense receipts from a CNRPP Certified Radon Mitigation expert/company for which you are requesting reimbursement.

Documents Required

Requires all applications to include a copy of the expense receipts for which they are requesting reimbursement. All requests are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
