Service Description
Focuses on strengthening and connecting individual job seekers to sustainable employment, education and training in support of current labour market needs.
Goals of the program are to:
- Foster inclusive labour market participation through preparation for employment and access to quality employment opportunities for those facing obstacles to entering into and staying in the labour force
- Provide skill development, trainnig, and labour market information to support individuals with skills gaps to build capacity and align skills with current and future labour market needs and opportunities to advance in their careers
- Create efficient labour markets by encouraging employer involvement and continuous learning opportunities to ensure a skilled workforce that will contribute to improved productivity and economic growth.
Eligibility
There are several groups that will continue to benefit from employment services in this program:
• Job seekers needing upskilling to meet the demands of the current labour market;
• Job Seekers hardest hit by labour disruptions and workforce changes due to the pandemic;
• Job Seekers with a lack of digital literacy and access to technology;
• Those currently unemployed and underemployed (less than 20 hours per week) individuals who may struggle to connect to or stay at a job for a longer period of time.
• Individuals at risk of exiting or not entering training, education, or employment.
• Recovery occupations facing a skill gap and labour shortage.
Work Prep is a proud partner of the Ministry of Immigration and Training, who provides the funding to deliver this program.

We are closed the 4th Wednesday of every month until noon for our monthly staff meeting.
