Service Description
Offers assistance for women and/or gender-diverse folks applying to suspend their criminal record. This suspension (or pardon) does not erase the record permanently but ensures it is kept separate from others. When someone searches the CPIC database for the criminal record, none will be found.
Eligibility
Women and gender-diverse individuals who have been released from prison. In order to be eligible, you must have completed all of your sentences, which includes: all fines, surcharges, sentences of imprisonment, conditional sentences, including parole and statutory release and any probation order(s). You must have completed the appropriate waiting period: Before June 29, 2010 - 5 years for an offense prosecuted by indictment - 3 years for an offense punishable on summary conviction After June 29, 2010 - 10 years for an offense prosecuted by indictment - 5 years for an offense punishable on summary conviction.
