Service Description

A licensed child care facility that provides care and supervision for up to 22 children between the ages of two weeks and two and a half years. Priority given to teen students under the age of 22 and enrolled in high school classes. Child Care Subsidy accepted.

Philosophy

  • Believe that creating relationships with and supporting children and their families is the foundation to creating an exceptional learning/care environment.
  • Use the Play and Exploration model of early learning – model’s focus is on the holistic development of the child (social-emotional, intellectual, spiritual, physical) and recognizes that children are independent and capable learners who learn many developmental skills through play.
  • Have a parent program coordinator on staff who supports the parents in all areas necessary for them to be strong and successful in the program. 

Programs and Activities

  • Play-based program.
  • Environment is set up with many different materials and engaging invitations to create the opportunity for children to make choices and explore through play. 
  • Focus on the holistic development of each child and work diligently to recognize each child’s developmental needs and plan accordingly. 
  • Plans are based on the children’s interests. 
  • Combination of indoor/outdoor play, structured/free choice activities, and child led/teacher led activities. 
  • Strive to create an inclusive and warm environment that honours each child’s heritage.  

Nutrition

  • Nutrition is foundational in supporting children to be healthy, active, and engaged learners. 
  • Morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack are provided. 
  • Attempt to accommodate each child’s dietary needs. 

Eligibility

Children between the ages of 2 weeks - 2.5 years. Priority given to teen students under the age of 22 and enrolled in high school classes.

Fees

There is no fee for teen parents, under the age of 22, who are enrolled in the Teen Student Support Program.

Community Spaces: Infant (2 weeks - 18 months) $581 per month, Toddler (18 months - 30 months) $479 per month, Preschool (30 months - 5 years) $407 per month, Kindergarten $835 per month.

Child Care Subsidy accepted.
