Child Care – Regent Park

A licensed child care facility that provides care and supervision for up to 52 children between the ages of 18 months and 12 years. Child Care Subsidy accepted. 

Parents/guardians are charged a monthly fundraising fee of $10 per family.

Philosophy

• Goal of Bright Beginnings is to offer a childcare program that values individuals, respects their uniqueness and nurtures their development.
• Respect for the individuality of each child is the foundation of their philosophy.
• To provide a secure and safe environment that allows the child to develop in all areas.
• To encourage the exploration of the environment, interaction with other children and curiosity about the world.

Programs and Activities

• As children play with each other, they learn to see other children’s points of view and begin to learn empathy.
• Children come to understand customs in their own cultures and they appreciate those of others.
• Children learn to use language in new ways to describe their play and to interact with others.
• Educators provide the space, opportunity and materials based on the children’s interests and the children are able to choose to become engaged in their own activities.

Nutrition

• Provides morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack.
• Morning snack and afternoon snack consists of two of the four food groups. (One of those food groups is always a fruit or a vegetable)
• Lunch is a combination of all four food groups.
• Follows the guidelines set out by the Canada Food Guide.
• Menu is a four-week plan that is used for six months and then a new menu is created following the same guidelines.
