Service Description
Serves and supports member First Nations in areas of Sports, Culture, and Recreation including the following objectives:
- Promoting upcoming activities/events.
- Assisting in the coordination of activities/events held by member First Nations.
- Developing atheletes, coaches, and officials by providing clinics and programming.
- Planning, organizing, and coordinating ID camps for First Nation Summer and Winter Games.
- Assisting with grant-writing and reports.
- Linking with Provincial Sport Governing Bodies, SaskSport, Aboriginal Coaching and Officials Program, Prairie Central District, and other organizations to network, build relationships, and promote sport.
- Providing opportunitites for Elders to interact with youth to strengthen cultural beliefs, history, and traditions.
- Developing cultural awareness through craft and art programs.
- Promoting community powwows and culture camps.
- Accessing funding, workshops, and programs offered through SaskCulture, Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association, and other related organizations.
- Promoting fitness, active living, and other wellness initiatives.
- Supporting Treaty 4 Gathering.
Eligibility
Members of the Touchwood Agency Tribal Council including Muskowekwan, Day Star, George Gordon, and Kawacatoose First Nations.
