Service Description
Goals and Objectives include to:
- Develop an Aboriginal Youth Suicide Prevention Program,
- Encourage and support the well-being of youth and families through a community-based approach of presentations, workshops, and resource materials to increase awareness and understanding of Aboriginal youth suicide prevention and what is effective,
- Increase/strengthen key protective/preventative factors such as resiliency, a strong sense of identity, meaning, and purpose, and reduce risk factors associated with suicide,
- Increase understanding, strengthen, and facilitate collaborative approaches, and linkages with other agencies and organizations,
- Gather First Nation Youth to discuss, educate, and raise awareness of suicide prevention and healthy lifestyles.
Eligibility
Members of the Touchwood Agency Tribal Council including Muskowekwan, Day Star, George Gordon, and Kawacatoose First Nations. Contact is available for Touchwood Agency Tribal Council area. Emergency calls from any other region will be provided service and then additional contact information will be directed to the appropriate region or service.
