Service Description
Provides 11 bachelor/studio suites (with one suite being fully accessible) for hard to house low income adults. All suites are smoke free. Applicant must qualify.
Rent includes heat and water; tenants are responsible for their own power, telephone, and cable services. A damage deposit is required.
Amenities include:
- Single front entrance
- Minor maintenance provided by on-site maintenance personnel
- Emergency situations handled through a 24-hour on-call service
- Limited number of electrified parking stalls available at a monthly cost.
Transportation: The city’s Dial-a-Bus service is available at a number of locations less than a block away.
Eligibility
• Applicant must be 18 years of age or older and must meet the qualifications the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation has established under the Saskatchewan Household Income Maximum – low (SHIM-low) which is $46,600 per year ($3,883 per month) - see line 15000 of Income Tax. • Applicant must meet the requirements Saskatchewan Housing’s definition of hard to house: “Persons who are unable to access or maintain stable housing due to one or more characteristics that create unusual barriers to housing. These people often need supports and/or services in order to access or maintain stable housing. This includes, but is not limited to, households with persons who have physical disabilities, mental health issues, addiction issues, behaviourial issues, or a number of these issues concurrently.” • Approved applicants are point rated to their need, with preference given to those with lower income and those who are living at risk.
