Veterans Transition Program

Provided by: Veterans Transition Network

Service Description

Provides a 10-day group-based residential program, delivered over three weekends. Designed to assist current and former members of the Canadian Forces and RCMP in their transition to civilian life by providing counselling, peer support, and skill development.

Programs are led by registered psychologists and counsellors with expertise in military populations, trauma, and group work, and who have undergone rigorous hands-on training. Groups are supported by returning program graduates.

Intake and screening processes are quick, simple and require a minimal level of paperwork. Programs do not require a diagnosis of a mental health disorder to attend; they are open to all Veterans and Service Members regardless of the participant’s military branch, trade or deployment history.

Programs are delivered at no cost to the participants and all accommodation, meals, and travel costs are covered by the organization, ensuring that there is no financial barrier to attendance. Staff handle all administration and when necessary assist participants in planning their travel to attend.
