Service Description
Provides transportation services for community residents with disabilities. Priority is given to medical appointments, followed by transportation to work, and thirdly for outings. Para transit vehicles are also available for rent.
The Ability Bus Board has two vehicles capable of transporting people with disabilities:
- Bus – capacity to carry 4 wheel chairs and 6 passengers or 3 wheel chairs and 8 passengers
- Van – capacity to carry 2 wheelchairs and 2 passengers or 1 wheelchair and 4 passengers.
Eligibility
To drive the bus or van, the town office must have on record a copy of your drivers license and you must complete a checklist on the operation of the unit and wheelchair lift.
