Service Description
Helps parents who require intensive support to have their children returned to their care or to maintain their children in their care. Homes are staffed 24 hours a day and offer self-contained suites.
Staff provide support to help parents meet case plans goals, such as attending addiction recovery programs, parenting classes, domestic violence interventions, or other relevant programming.
Infinity House: a high-risk home for mothers and their children and consists of 10 long term suites, four assessment suites and one resource room/counselling office.
Pritchard House: a low-risk home for mothers and their children and consists of seven long term suites. Mothers continue working on their individual case plans towards transitioning into the community with their children.
Niwaapatahaaanik: a home for intact families and their children and consists of 11 long term suites. Offers support services to create a path towards becoming custodial parents and/or maintaining custody. Assists families to eventually transition into the community with their children.
Trotchie Home: a home with six long term suites, which are designed for single fathers and their children. These fathers are either in the process of gaining custody of their children or maintaining custody.
Visiting Suites: four units where families have supervised visits with their children who have been placed in foster care. Provides a home environment with supportive staff. Transportation is available for both parents and children, along with snacks and supervision.
Consists of four units for day and/or overnight visits. Staff work collaboratively with Child and Family Services. Suites are able to accommodate up to four, two-hour visits at a time, with a total of sixteen visits per day.
Eligibility
Families or singles parents referred by a Social Services Worker.
