St. Mary Daycare Inc.

A Christian based licensed child care facility that provides care and supervision for up to 17 children between the ages of newborn and 30 months. Priority is given to teen parents with community spaces available. Child Care Subsidy accepted.

Philosophy

• Believe the first five years of a child’s life are the most critical period with regards to the emergence and development of individuality, character and learning style. 
• Believe that young children from newborn and up are competent learners – believe this strength-based way of thinking will encourage children’s independence and competence as they grow, mature and achieve new skills. 
• Infants and toddlers are appreciated as active learners who demonstrate various ways of knowing, doing, and learning through their multiple ways of communicating.
• Families are encouraged to share in learning experiences throughout their child’s day, if they have time to spare between classes. 
• Centre has an open door policy.

Programs and Activities

• Centre follows the Play and Exploration: Early Learning Program Guide – this involves bringing the outdoor environment inside as much as possible until they are able to take part in activities outside. 

Nutrition

• Believe nutrition is of the upmost importance for raising healthy infants and toddlers. 
• Centre follows the Canadian Food Guide and special diets are strictly followed.
