Service Description

A licensed child care facility that provides care and supervision for up to 60 children between the ages of 18 months and seven years.

Philosophy

  • To provide an environment where children will be safe, happy, and feel free to enjoy the experience of learning and developing.
  • To promote the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of the children.
  • To encourage individuality, creativity, and self-acceptance among each other as well as keeping an open mind, and respect.
  • To provide a wide variety of life experiences for the children through daily programing, outings, and guests.

Programs and Activities

  • Centre allows the children’s interests to determine what they want to learn about.
  • Play space is set up to allow children to make their own choices in what they want to play, creates independence, by offering choices and decision making.
  • Daily routine allows ample time for free play, indoor/outdoor play, and some one-on-one time for all children.
  • All children’s needs are met, some with a higher need for care will have a one-on-one staff to help them throughout the day.
  • With so many different cultures in their center, they like to include all cultures and may ask parents to help provide them with language, recipes, and may ask them to visit as a special guest and introduce something from their culture to the children.

Nutrition

  • Menu follows the Canada Food Guide.
  • Serve breakfast, lunch, and one afternoon snack.
  • Encourage all children to try a variety of foods.
  • In the event that children require a special diet they work closely with the parents to ensure their child is having proper nutrition throughout the day.
  • Believe that setting a foundation for healthy nutrition in childhood creates healthy habits as adults and that children need proper nutrients to stay healthy, strong, and for their overall development and growth.
