Service Description
Provide confidential short-term support to connect people who have experienced an overdose with programs, services, and resources. The Overdose Outreach Teams include SHA mental health and addictions staff and primary care paramedics from the Saskatoon Fire Department and Regina Fire and Protective Services. The teams:
- Reach out to individuals who have recently experienced an overdose.
- Help individuals who experience an overdose start on a path of recovery and treatment planning.
- Provide short-term counselling while connecting individuals to other agencies/organizations for longer-term needs.
- Conduct risk assessments and assist with safety planning.
- Provide harm reduction education.
- Support and help connect individuals to follow-up care and services.
