Service Description
Provides recreational, cultural and educational programs and events for children, youth, adults and Elders. All programs are free and open to anyone who is interested. Some programs or events require registration. Program Department offers:
- Elders dinners (Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas)
- Folkfest pavilion
- National Aboriginal Day
- Mother’s Day tea
- Children summer program
- Annual jigging competition
- Annual roundance
- SIMFC Aboriginal Graduation Gala
Education and Training:
- Jigging workshops
- Advanced jigging work shop
- Elders stories
- Cultural workshop
- Beading classes
- Regalia classes
- Geneology classes
- Fiddle lessons
- Guitar lessons
Recreational and Social Activities:
- Children’s Christmas party
- Children’s Halloween party
- Volleyball
- Pow wow song and dance
