Service Description
Provides a simple flat-rate monthly benefit to help individuals fleeing interpersonal violence cover their rent and utility costs. For eligible individuals, the monthly benefit amount depends on household size.
NOTE: The Saskatchewan Housing Benefit is delivered by Saskatchewan Housing Corporation (SHC) and co-funded by the Government of Canada and Government of Saskatchewan under the National Housing Strategy.
Eligibility
Individuals may be eligible for the SHB Seeking Safety Stream if they are fleeing interpersonal violence and have made arrangements to live independently in the private rental market or a housing co-operative.
Application Process
BY REFERRAL ONLY. Contact Saskatchewan Housing Corporation (1‑844‑787‑4177 / saskhousingbenefit@gov.sk.ca) to find out if you are eligible to be referred for this benefit.
