Service Description
Wellness Centre that provides accomodation and necessities for one family for a six-week period. During this time the centre offers traditional parenting skills, bonds between parent(s) and child(ren), provides holistic healing using traditional and contemporary practices, as well as counselling. Services and topics include:

- Sharing Circles
- Individual and Group Counselling
- Cultural and Spiritual Teachings
- Drug and Alcohol Counseling
- Personal Life Management
- Independent Living
- Grief, Anger and Shame Workshops
- Anger Management
- Assertiveness Training
- Cycle of Violence
- Family of Origin
- Positive Coping
- Interpersonal Relationships
- Recreation
- Sexual Abuse.
There are two centres that offer this service. One is at Deschambault Lake and the other is at Sandy Bay. Call 306-953-4411 for details.
Eligibility
Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation members residing in Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation communities.
Application Process
Parents may visit Peter Ballantyne local office to get more informaiton or to apply. Workers in each community office make the referral of the family to the Family Wellness Centre. Intake committee reviews applications for admission.
