Service Description
A ten-bed HIV prenatal care home which supports high risk, HIV positive pregnant women at risk of having their infants apprehended at birth. Goal is to prevent the transmission of HIV to the unborn baby throughout the pregnancy and at birth and to provide support in planning for the unborn baby through an integrated model of care.
Eligibility
Women must be pregnant, residing in Saskatchewan, and any of the following:
- HIV positive
- At risk of contracting HIV while pregnant (injection drug use etc.)
- At risk of having their child apprehended at birth (substance misuse, mental health, homeless, exposed to violence, other children in care etc.).
