  • Monthly themes are incorporated within the daycare to offer a unique and educational experience for the kids.
  • Centre focuses on S.P.L.I.C.E., which means they work to develop the whole child – S.P.L.I.C.E stands for the social, physical, linguistic, intellectual, creative, and emotional aspects of a child’s development.

  • There is no screen time in the facility.
  • Nap time is from 12:30 pm to 2:45 pm for the younger children – older children who do not nap have quiet time that involves activities such as puzzles, cards, board games, and colouring.

  • Children will not be taken outside when the temperature is below -25 degrees Celsius – for temperatures above 25 degrees Celsius, with a UV rating above six, children will be taken outside only for short periods of time – Rosetown Kid Kare Inc. provides sunscreen and bug spray for children and parents must sign a release form allowing the use of sunscreen and bug spray – in the case of allergies, parents are responsible for informing staff and providing alternate sunscreen or bug spray for individual use.
  • Parents may be asked to assist with supervising the children on outings like field trips to somewhere in the community. (example: park, museum)

  • Each class eats as a group and uses it as a real life learning situation in which a variety of social and self-help skills can be learned.
  • Children are encouraged, never forced, to try all foods on their plates – children are never forced to finish their food, nor is food ever used as a reward or punishment.
  • Parents need to notify the Director and Cook about any known allergies or special diets your child may have – If the child needs a special diet, the parent will be asked to bring in food – allergies should be noted on the medical form.
