Service Description
Provides information and referrals to community agencies for specialized suicide prevention, crisis and post crisis services. Agencies include:
- Positively Parenting – Offers peer support, grief support group, suicide loss support group, We Care Kids and more
- Caring Hearts (Regina) – Works with trauma victims
- Embracing Life – An app developed in Northern Saskatchewan for mental health
- Wellness Together Canada – Provides free and immediate mental health support (individuals can ask to speak to the same counsellor)

Roots of Hope is managed by the Saskatchewan Health Authority in consultation with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Health and the Mental Health Commission of Canada. Website is managed by Roots of Hope.
Eligibility
Individuals, families, professionals, or community groups from Big Island Lake First Nation, Dorintosh, Flying Dust First Nation, Goodsoil, Island Lake First Nation, Loon Lake, Makwa, Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation, Meadow Lake, Pierceland, Rapid View, St. Walburg, and Waterhen Lake First Nation and surrounding areas may request support, referrals, presentations, resources or information about suicide and suicide prevention. Other communities may request support, referrals, resources, and presentations. Program response will be based on capacity and the nature of the request.

Big Island Lake First Nation, Dorintosh, Flying Dust First Nation, Goodsoil, Green Lake, Island Lake First Nation, Loon Lake, Makwa, Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation, Meadow Lake, Pierceland, Rapid View, St. Walburg, and Waterhen Lake First Nation. Inquiries or requests for suicide awareness presentations or Mental Health First Aid Basic training, and other resources listed above, are also accepted from other communities. Program response will depend on capacity and the nature of the request.
