Service Description
Offers services to children (ages 5 to 12) who have been exposed to violence. Provides individual crisis counselling, support groups and presentations.
- Individual Crisis Counselling – Offers a safe place for children to discuss their experiences of violence.
- Support Groups – Children learn what abuse is, that they are not alone, that they are not responsible for the violence, how to stay safe, where to get help, how to express their feelings, problem solving and self esteem.
- Public Education Presentations (general public and in-school settings) – Presentations are tailored to meet the needs identified by the school. Topics may include: 
- Bullying and Safe Schools
- What is Abuse
- Conflict Resolution
- Feelings Expression
- Self-Esteem
- Respect and Healthy Communication.
 
- Community Awareness Presentations
- Impact on Children Exposed to Violence
- Child Abuse
- Bullying and more.
 
Eligibility
Children who have been exposed to violence, parents of children who have been exposed to violence.
Application Process
Call for service. Referrals not necessary.
