Service Description

Program for newcomer seniors to connect with their community through recreational activities and workshops, such as

  • conversation circles to learn about Canadian culture and practice English
  • information sessions focused on community supports and how to access them as well as equality rights and responsibilities, Indigenous history, frauds and scams, and financial literacy
  • workshops focused on basic computer skills, digital literacy, arts and crafts, cooking healthy meals
  • recreational activities such yoga, social club, outdoor picnics and gardening club
  • interpretation supports for clients with limited English

Eligibility

Female and male permanent residents 50 years of age and older
