Service Description

Volunteers help prepare personal tax returns for individuals who have low income and a simple tax situation. Typically runs in March – April.


Taxpayers who have a simple tax situation and a low to modest income:
-Single Person annual income up to $35,000
-Couple annual income up to $45,000
-One adult with one child annual income up to $47,500
-Each additional dependent up to $2,500
-Interest income less than $1,000.

Volunteers do not prepare complex returns, such as returns for individuals who: have self-employment income; have business or rental income and expenses; have capital gains or losses; have employment expenses; have filed for bankruptcy; have deceased in the year.
